what if we skipped town and got a place
start a new life in a new state
an apartment down by the sea
cuz I know how you love the beach
we could decorate it how we want
with comfy chairs and some nice art
and I hope our home has a view
of the sunrise to share with you
if we, were a little older
you and me, could start our lives over
if only we, were a little older
you and me, could start this over
what if we quit our jobs and dropped out of school?
started living how we want to
who cares what our friends would think,
we don't need our parents' blessing
cuz the ocean is calling our names,
let's go tonight and get away.
then I'll wake up right by your side,
oh baby, "wouldn't it be nice"?
if we, were a little older
you and me, could start our lives over
if only we, were a little older
you and me, could start this over

I'm a sucker for lyrics. This song is a beautiful sadness to end a summer with. I love every track on this album but this one is comfortable to me, for better or worse. It captures a feeling I think unfortunately most of us have felt. Surf Curse's whole sound reminds me of loss and no more so then here. logansaxby
